Where did Gabbly chat go?
Update: Gabbly seems to back up. Restored! Refresh or quit and reopen your browser until gabbly is back.
Hi all,
Gabbly recently launched some new features, but it has made the basic chat system buggy. The chat is usually laggy and the list that shows who is in the room is broken. I am taking gabbly off while they fix the bugs.
In the mean time we will test out this Java based system. If you can't see the chat window, it is probably because you need to update your Java. You can update it here.
This Java chat has some cool features. For one thing, you can send Private Messages by double clicking on a persons name in the list!
Please leave a comment if you have problems with the chat system. Again, I took Gabbly down because it is not working.

CONS:
(1) Word filter.
(2) No spam filter.
(3) Sucky smilies that override lol and other stuff.
(4) No block ability.
(5) Cannot move member list.
PROS:
(1) Private messages.
(2) Gabbly sucks.
(3) Beeping sound when you say a person's name as it appears on the list. This gets their attention.
(4) There IS a block ability. (Right click a person's name)
(5) Increase/decrease font size.
(6) I kinda dig the word filter. God forbid it challenge anyone to think of something half way decently intelligent to say, when expressing their anger/frusteration. However, it's funnier to substitute other words, and there are ALWAYS ways around the filters.
CONS:
(1) Annoying sounds spam up the board real fast.
(2) Two members I know of so far can't seem to get it to work at all. (Cel and Rin)
(3) Smiley over-rides.
(4) Extremely fat member list, can not be down-sized, and chat box window seems small.
(5) Pretty name colors. ; _ ;
That's my two cents.
Again, I repeat, I do not have the Gabbly chat up right now because Gabbly is being UNRELIABLE. (ie, you won't be able to talk to each other).
Thanks for the emails about it, I understand you all want it back. We just have to give the Gabbly team some time! In the mean time, I have put the Java chat up so you guys can at least talk to each other XD
This thing scares me...
Two bad things about this new chat:
1) Everyone is the same color
2) Can't connect to it when connected to a wireless network (atleast where I am)
