Yay! I get to be the first question. Hmm...well since I don't know you that well I think I shall ask two questions.
1) Jent, what was it that brought you to ani-pock?
(oh two sorta goes along with 1)
and 2) Were those reasons by chance or by other cirumstances?
I may be doing more questions later.
Sorry that I haven't been on the past few days. ^_^ Work-related junk. :P
Rose:
1) Originally, I happened upon Ani-Pock, while looking for Nanaca Crash. My boyfriend and I would play it every once in a while, trying to topple each other's scores. After a while, I found the flash games, and then Full Moon Wo Sagashite, is what really kept me. Shortly after, I started drawing on the site, and making friends. So, I just stuck.
2) I was deliberately looking for Nanaca Crash, so it was on purpose. ^_^
And thanks for the questions. ^_^ Appreciated.
Jenttttt~~~~ What to ask....
1.)What is your favorite picture you've drawn?
2.)How did you get into drawing anime (was it SM? :3)
3.) How is the webcomic doing?
4.) Would you be my friend forever?
5.) What's your favorite dessert?
6.) How many times do you crash in front of your computer?
7.) Can you sleep with the lights on?
8.) CAN I COME LIVE WITH YOUUUUUUU??? :3
Kip, thanks for posting~ I'm a bad web master person thingy~ ^^;
sooooooooooooooooooooooo
Whats Jent's middle name?
XD Please, we all get forgetful.
Jent, what's your favorite thing ever?
Yay! Fun. ^^
Rin:
1)Hmmm. ^_^ Good question. I really love this picture:
http://www.advancedanime.com/displayimage.php?pid=150350
I think it's the profile of the guy's face, and the fact I just drew it for fun. It was a very random picture for fun. My very favorites are ones that I can't show you, they only exist in the world away from the computer. ^_^
2) Sailor Moon did get me into drawing anime! A close friend and I used to draw pictures of Sailor Moon characters that we liked in our notes in class. XD
3) So far, I've not touched it. ^_^; I ran cold on ideas, and the community changed a lot. Not to mention, there are so many people that come on now that I don't know anymore!
4) Certainly. ^_^ I hope that we keep in touch. It makes me sad, that so often, friendships just fall apart because of a lack of communication. Let's both work hard to make sure that doesn't happen! :D
5) Ooo! I never think about this kind of thing~! :giggles: Hmmm... I really like Israeli ice cream, and I don't know how to properly explain the difference in it, compared to what we have here. It's like.. ice cream that is fluffy, like Cool Whip, but not that liquid-ish. . ?
6) :laughs: About 5 out of 7 nights a week~!
7) Yes. If I am really tired, I can sleep anywhere! There have been times that I've fallen asleep sitting up, and almost a few times standing. XD Just ask anyone that has ever watched a movie with me. XD
8) Okay, but let's go move somewhere less cold~!!
Pocky:
1) Kay! Sometimes, I think about just changing my first name to that. :P Because it's more original than Jennifer.
Kip:
1) My favorite thing ever.. ? :O
:thinks really hard:
Music. Nothing in particular, but music is something that you can understand, no matter the language or culture it comes from. I love listening to music, I think it's one of the few things that really calms me down, and allows me to become inspired.
If you were stuck on an island and could get just one thing that you wanted, what would that one thing be? O.o
If you had a pet, would you want a pet rock or a pet wolfie? :3
Teh-song:
Gah! O_O;
Well, some way to have contact with the outside world, I hope!
Pocky:
A pet wolfie. X3 They're cute and they don't just sit there.
JENT. D: < If you was a boy what would you call yourself?
-lucy
Lucy:
If I was a boy?
Good question~!
Hmmm. I think I'd stick with the "J" names. Probably Josh or something. If not, I'd take on the name Christian. I really like that name. ^_____^ <3
Jent, You seem quite knowledgable and accepting of other cultures...
How far does does your acceptance extend? (as in what cultures do you currently know about? And does it end there?)
Do you find yourself set apart from your peers or are they as accepting as you?
3 favourite animals in order and why.
//How far does does your acceptance extend? (as in what cultures do you currently know about? And does it end there?)//
One of the ways I become attuned to different cultures is listening to their popular music. I think that you can learn a lot that way, whether you understand what they are saying or not.
I'm very interested in a lot of different countries and cultures, but I try to limit myself to learning about them one at a time. As everyone here already knows, I went to Israel in December, and before I went, I prepared by learning very basic Hebrew, listening to the music, and watching different videos on YouTube and Metacafe. I did a LOT of research on the demographics and the dos and don'ts of everything, and made sure that I was pretty comfortable with the culture before I immersed myself into it. It was particularly interesting, because there are so many different things to be learned there, as far as different religions, as well as different ethnicities.
I've always had a keen interest in Japan, and I will not be ashamed to admit, that anime is what first drew me in, but it's not what kept me. The pop culture of Japan, the different fashions, the ettiquette, and traditions, are all things that really, really interest me. I would love to learn more about Japan, and eventually go there myself.
I've always been interested in going to England and Germany as well. I am half German and half Irish, so that sort of explains Germany. Something that is really great about America, is that every state is actually like a completely different culture, with different laws, different "customs" and things. I want to do a lot of traveling in my life, and plan to. I've considered seeing what it takes to become an ambassador, and I've even thought about becoming a journalist, or something of the sort, so that I can travel and see all of these things.
The languages that I would really like to learn are Japanese, German, Arabic, Russian, Hebrew, and maybe Spanish. I know some spanish, but haven't retained enough of it to use it.
I try to truly be open-minded, when it comes to different cultures and countries. I do realize that a lot of other countries really don't like America, and some don't even like Americans. I want to break the stereotypes that a lot of people see in us. The media has made a mockery of what this country is really about. Maybe, one person at a time, I can change that. Maybe not. But, I have found, that when you show someone respect, they are much more willing to do the same.
//Do you find yourself set apart from your peers or are they as accepting as you?//
I find myself very set apart. :/ Sucks. Especially, friends from other countries. I guess we all just were raised differently, so we think differently. Where I grew up, it's middle America. We don't really have a lot of diversity here, so people tend to be very close-minded. I guess things are better than I once remembered them, but very often people like to elaborate on their pre-concieved ideas of people and things, and I just have to bite my tongue. D:< But, there is only so much I can take, before I let someone have it.
//3 favourite animals in order and why.//
The fox. Sly, and beautiful. I've always thought they were pretty fascinating.
The goat. Believe it or not. XD I think that goats are just.. awesome. XDDD They have those weird screwdriver looking eyes. I don't know. I really think they're cute. I remember always cuddling them at the petting zoos when I was little.
The kangaroo. There is no other animal like them. They're so fascinating! Did you know, they can not hop backwords?
I hate that you can't fix your typos on here. XDDDD
If to day is yesterdays tomorrow, what is sunday? XD anyways, how many difrent places have you been to? can you tell what you liked about them?
Haku
Haku:
I've been many places, within the United States.
I've been to New York City. It's a really awesome place, from what I've seen. There is always something going on, and people everywhere~! I think you could see anything you wanted to there. ^_^ Always something going on.
I've been to Alabama, once. This is where I discovered, "grits".
I wonder if anyone has ever had them here. :o They are.. sort of like oatmeal. Sort of. The south is so different from the rest of the U.S. But I went there as a child, so there is not a lot that I remember. I was probably 11 or so.
I've been to every state surrounding Nebraska. One of my most favorite trips that I took, was to South Dakota. There is a lot of interesting things there, besides just Mount Rushmore. There are museums and parks everywhere~! A lot of things to see~!
I have been skiing in Wyoming, I've spent my share of time in Denver, Colorado. I dropped off a good friend in college in Iowa. I've been to Chicago, Illinois, briefly. The "bad" parts. It was actually pretty scary. XD Uh.. Let's see. I have never been, to Florida, California, or Texas! I think that is sort of surprising. :P I would like to visit all of those states, someday. I would also like to make a trip to Vermont and Massachusetts. Also, perhaps, Arizona, and Oregon. There are seperate reasons for all of those things.
I went to Israel also. Obviously. That is the only place I've been to out of the country. I FLEW over Spain, Italy, France, England and several other countries. XD But I was sleeping, mostly.
Traveling is so exciting. I really advocate seeing the world around you. I think it is important to see how other people, other cultures and countries, do things. You learn to appreciate what you've come to know, and you also learn to appreciate new things, that you were unaware of. ^_^
Bravo Jent!
I think it's just as important to learn about ones own country and culture as it is learning about others...
Can one really appreciate others if they don't understand their own?
Thank You Jent.
You're one of the few that keep me coming back here.
: smiles :
You're a great friend Kami. ^_^ Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for allowing me to get to know you.
Do you remember me? XD
Yuki:
But of course! Pocky and I were just talking about you today! ^_^
ура~~ XD
вопрос:
What languages do you know?
aand
How did you learn them? :3
Sefi:
:Laughs:
Not fluent, in anything but English.
In high school, I took a lot of Spanish, but it's like they say, you don't use it, you lose it. Unfortunately, I don't remember enough for it to be useful.
Everything that I've learned, as far as Russian and Hebrew, are things that Cel has taught me. ^_^ Hebrew is pretty awesome, but you have to learn a whole new set of characters, just like Russian. Russian is so hard. (@_@) It was really awesome, to listen to all the Hebrew and Russian I was surrounded by in Israel. I didn't care that I didn't understand much, but when I did know something, I got really excited. XD It was dorky of me, I suppose.
Quick Hebrew lesson, courtesy of Jent. XD
Hello - Shalom שָׁלוֹם
Goodbye - Le׳hitra׳ot לְהִתְרָאוֹת
(It's kinda hard to get the pronounciation correct.)
Thank you - To-da תּוֹדָה
Yes - Ken כֵּן
No - Lo לֹא
Please - Bevakasha בְּבַקָּשָׁה
Not sure if the Hebrew will show up for that or not. :P
Everything I know in Russian is cheating. XDDD I look it up. It's nothing memorized. The same can be said for the Hebrew characters though, I don't have them memorized enough to write them from memory.
I want to learn a lot of languages, but I do not know if I am capable of it. Learn as much as you can while it's free in school! XD And, it seems, the older you get, the harder it is to learn information and retain it. I'm not like, that old, but it seems that I'm not as sharp as I once was.
