Musics .O.
All right, all right.
I have to say that I do not listen to the 'to-be' mentioned Band. My freaky friends do, and enjoy it quite a lot, next to their J-Pop and Visual Kei. n_n
Quite the odd mix, I have to say.
But the baaaaaaaaand, which I have seen comercials, is becoming popular in America and not just back in Japan.
I invite you to Dir En Grey, listen, and say what you think!
Umm... Here's what trusty trusty Wikipedia has to offer:
"Dir en grey is a Japanese band formed in 1997. As of 2007, it has released six full-length records and is among the handful of Japanese bands to have enjoyed notable success in Europe and North America. While the group's lineup has remained consistent since its inception, numerous stylistic changes have made its music's genre difficult to determine (though it's generally considered to be a form of rock music). Originally part of Japan's visual kei movement, Dir en grey has opted for less flamboyant attire in recent years."

Like most Japanese Rock bands, Dir En Grey is also known for their "Love Ballads".
Their style has changed so often that they just may have something for most people.
I'm more of a fan of their "Punk" type area and ofcourse the slower "Love Ballads".
I've always liked Dir en Grey. I really have sort of fell out of love with them, when their newer stuff came out though. Now, I've not listened to all of their newer stuff. I really haven't given it a fair chance. I don't want to go through hours of screaming to get to something worthwhile. It turned so.. American. Somewhere along the line, I feel they've lost their identity. :( Just a bunch of screaming. Which is pretty much all that the first one is. >_>; The last one is a lot closer to the sound they make that I once appreciated, but it's not one of my favorites, theres's some screaming, but it's like.. not as.. exaggerated.. or something..
I love Visual Kei! I've been a huge fan of the genre for years! ^.^ What I wouldn't give to go prancing around in Japan in all the make up, the bright and wild hair and elaborate leather outfits. :P
Some of my favorites are:
Mitsu to Tsuba: (One of my most favorite) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PZ1uUH6qlA
One that I can't show you, and probably shouldn't mention, for it's theme, and the nudity in it.
Yokan - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG-_HekZ7k8
Dead Tree: (still much more screaming than I care for) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbGGzh7MMjA

Kyo is so awesome, he's got such a quirky and fresh personality! He's the lead singer. ^_^
I actually have a video of a bunch of their older music videos at my ex's house. I bought the DVD of Ebay a few years ago.
