Word of teh week!

All But --hotondo (ho-to-n-do)
Kare-wa mo-sukoshi-no-tokoro-de yake-shinu-tokoro-datta(He was all but burnt to death)
(this week's word(s) was chosen because of the sentince discribing it)
Note- the word and sentice was taken from a english to japaneese dictionary.....so it might be a bit weird...sorry!

I might have pronounced it a little differently, but otherwise, good work keeping us updated on the new words!

殆んど (ほとんど), is more pronounced like...
"ho" as in Santa's "Ho ho ho"
"ton" as in "tone" from sound
"do" as in "playdough"

Perhaps an easier way to understand the meaning would be to see it as "mostly"?

You may have noticed 殆んど doesn't actually appear in the example sentence... it's replaced by もう少し, meaning "little more" but along side の所で it becomes "almost".

Yes, that's a more apt pronunciation as I would read it.

I could read the kanji for sukoshi and tokoro. ^.^ yatta...I feel like my sensei would be proud of me and then hurt me for not studying...j/p. Well I'll def have to use this in japanese class
